Brooklyn’s favorite new band, The Skins, release their 5-track EP, Still Sleep, available everywhere.

The five-piece American Records band told Complex, “I think as millennials we’re so obsessed with being like, ‘Don’t label me! You can’t put me in a box!’ When it comes to genre and sound, we like to experiment, we like to play…” The Skins’ sound fuses genres from pop and rock to hip-hop and soul. Their addictive song, “Bury Me”, featuring D.R.A.M., showcases their diverse talents and ability to really harness everything they’ve got; from badas* bassist Kaya Nico, to lead singer Bay Li‘s tantalizing vocals. Time Magazine calls “Bury Me” a “good primer on how infectious that mix [of solid-rock and soul] can be.”

This EP grows from reinvented Missy Elliot vibes in “Go Off”, to romanticized pop in “Runaway” and ending with a rallying cry anthem in “Stampede”. The Skins are tight, unique and inventive.

Don’t sleep, peep their dope EP below.
